Overview

OneIQ provides a comprehensive view of the IT environment, offering detailed insights into individual entities. Entities are organized by platform type for easy access, enabling IT teams to efficiently monitor and analyze system performance, inventory, and resource utilization.

Navigating Entities in OneIQ

To explore entities in OneIQ, follow these steps:

  1. Select an Entity Type:

    • From the dropdown under Entity Type, choose from various options such as Virtual Machines, Clusters, or Hosts.

    • If your IT environment spans multiple platforms, entities will be grouped accordingly.

  2. View Entity Details:

    • Select VMware Virtual Machines to see a list of all VMs within the VMware environment.

    • Use the top-right corner Section menu to switch between different views such as Lifecycle, Compute, Storage, and I/O.

    • Each view provides distinct information about the selected entities.

  3. Analyze Resource Utilization:

    • In the Compute View, sorting by CPU Utilization helps identify VMs consuming the most resources.

    • Click on a VM to access details such as Cluster, Host, IP Address, and other relevant attributes.

  4. Monitor Performance Metrics:

    • Click the Metrics button to visualize charts for CPU usage, memory utilization, and other key performance indicators.

    • Use these insights to detect anomalies and optimize resource distribution.

Filtering and Exporting Data

On the top-right of the Entities screen, there is a filter icon. To refine your analysis, use the following options:

  • Filtering Options:

    • Select VMs from a specific data center or cluster to narrow down your search.

    • Customize filters based on business needs and operational requirements.

  • Exporting Reports:

    • Generate and download a PowerPoint report for offline data analysis and reporting.

    • Share insights with stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
