Learn how to use OneIQ Pulse to discover a Veeam Backup &amp; Replication server or Veeam Enterprise Manager to collect data on backup repositories, backup servers, and protected virtual machines.

OneIQ Pulse for Datacenter collects configuration and status data from Veeam by connecting to either a Veeam Backup &amp; Replication (VBR) server or a Veeam Enterprise Manager instance. Once discovered, OneIQ Pulse collects the following entities:

Backup objects (non-VM protected workloads, such as physical agents or file shares)

- Backup Jobs
- Virtual machines protected by Veeam
- Backup objects (non-VM protected workloads, such as physical agents or file shares)
- Backup repositories ​

Outbound connectivity on port 443 (SSL) from the machine running OneIQ Pulse to OneIQ

A user account for the target Veeam system with the following role: ​

- Host Admin role, if connecting directly to a Veeam Backup &amp; Replication server
- Portal Administrator role, if connecting to Veeam Enterprise Manager ​ NOTE: license details (status, edition, expiration, sockets/instances/capacity usage) and configuration backup details (enabled, encrypted, last backup, restore points) are only available when connecting to a Veeam Backup &amp; Replication server; the Veeam Enterprise Manager API does not expose this information ​

- Outbound connectivity on port 443 (SSL) from the machine running OneIQ Pulse to OneIQ

Veeam Backup &amp; Replication: v12 and up

- Veeam Enterprise Manager: v12 and up

In the OneIQ portal, go to the Connectors section, click on Deploy Connector and select the Veeam platform.

Copy the connection key and download the OneIQ Pulse for Datacenter executable.

Run the executable on a Windows machine in your environment.

In the Select Discovery Target step, select Veeam as the discovery target.

- FQDN or IP address
- Username
- Password
- Port (leave blank to use the default well-known ports — 9419 for Veeam Backup &amp; Replication, then 9398 for Veeam Enterprise Manager — or enter a custom port number if your environment uses one) ​

Click Create to initiate discovery.

If this is the first time discovering this endpoint, trust the certificate when prompted. ​

1. In the OneIQ portal, go to the Connectors section, click on Deploy Connector and select the Veeam platform.
2. Copy the connection key and download the OneIQ Pulse for Datacenter executable.
3. Run the executable on a Windows machine in your environment.
4. Paste the connection key during setup.
5. In the Select Discovery Target step, select Veeam as the discovery target.
6. Enter the connection details:
 - FQDN or IP address
 - Username
 - Password
 - Port (leave blank to use the default well-known ports — 9419 for Veeam Backup &amp; Replication, then 9398 for Veeam Enterprise Manager — or enter a custom port number if your environment uses one) ​
 
 
7. Click Create to initiate discovery.
8. If this is the first time discovering this endpoint, trust the certificate when prompted. ​

Once discovery completes, configuration and status data for your Veeam backup repositories and protected virtual machines becomes available in the OneIQ Portal under Entities. ​
