Overview
OneIQ Pulse connectors for Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services deployed on or before October 26, 2026 include an inbound network rule that allows SSH (port 22) to the Pulse VM. This rule was used for support and debugging in earlier versions of OneIQ Pulse and is no longer required. It can be safely removed. Connectors deployed from the current templates do not include this rule.
Microsoft Azure
In the Azure Portal, open the resource group where OneIQ Pulse is deployed.
Select the network security group ending in -nsg (for example, oneiq-pulse-vm-xxxxx-nsg).
Go to Inbound security rules, select the rule named SSH, and click Delete.
Note: Do not remove the public IP address. The VM uses it for outbound connectivity.
Amazon Web Services
In the EC2 console, go to Instances and select the OneIQ Pulse instance (oneiq-pulse-vm-xxxxx).
On the Security tab, click the security group link.
Click Edit inbound rules, delete the rule for port 22, and click Save rules.
Network Requirements
OneIQ Pulse only requires outbound HTTPS (port 443) access to OneIQ and to the cloud provider. No inbound connections to the Pulse VM are required, so removing this rule does not affect data collection.
