OneIQ Pulse is designed to collect detailed inventory and performance data for core Microsoft Windows resources. Requirements for the Microsoft Windows systems are listed in this article.

Data Collection Requirements

Permissions

Domain or local administrator account with permissions to access WMI and Remote Registry. As a best practice create a dedicated Domain Admins account to use exclusively for data collection. Use local administrator account for machines that are not joined to the domain.

Configuration

The following OS instrumentation must be enabled:

  • Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

  • File and Print Sharing

  • Remote Registry

Network

  • Ports 135, 139 and 445 as well as ports used by WMI must be open. In Microsoft Windows, firewall rules must be specified to allow this type of communication.

  • A network path must exist between target systems and the OneIQ Pulse assigned to monitor them.

Note: Monitoring the machine hosting the OneIQ Pulse is not supported.
