OneIQ Pulse is a unified agent-less data collector supporting VMware, Microsoft and Linux target endpoints. Requirements for the Linux systems are listed in this article.
Supported operating systems
The following system requirements must be met on Linux target systems to enable inventory and performance data collection. OneIQ Pulse supports data collection from native and LVM2 volumes. Btrfs (B-tree file system) is not supported.
CentOS 4 - 8.0
Debian 3.1 - 10
Fedora 6 - 29
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 - 12
openSUSE 10.2 - 42.2
Oracle Linux 4.5 - 7.3
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 - 7.3
Ubuntu 6.06 - 20.04
Permissions
root or sudo level access
NOTE: see the Troubleshooting "failed to elevate using sudo or sudo is not available" error for Linux endpoints article for investigating issues with sudo level accessRecursive read access to/dev, /etc and /proc folders
Network
Port 22 must be open.
SSH2 and SSH1 connections are supported.
A network path must exist between target systems and the OneIQ Pulse assigned to monitor them.
During discovery, machines supporting SSH may appear as target systems running Linux. Unless these systems are running a standard release of one of the above operating systems, OneIQ Pulse will not be able to inventory them and they should be excluded from data collection.
