This article explains how to set up a shared workspace, invite someone to create an IT Environment (ITE), deploy the OneIQ Pulse connector, and connect it to the workspace so data can be collected, shared, and analyzed. An ITE represents the infrastructure being observed, such as datacenter, cloud, or container platforms, while a Workspace is a secure, shared area where this data can be viewed and analyzed with others.
Step 1 - Register at OneIQ
If not already registered, go to https://my.oneiq.com and sign up using a company email address.
Step 2 - Invite a customer to share their IT environment
Once logged in, click Invite someone to share their IT environment
Step 3 - Create a shared workspace
Fill in the workspace form to create a shared workspace. Specify the email address of the person who will receive the invitation. That individual will:
Register with OneIQ
Access the workspace
Deploy the lightweight OneIQ Pulse connector within their environment.
Step 4 - Invitation Received
The invitee receives an email with a link to View Invitation. If they are not already registered, they will be prompted to complete registration.
Step 5 - Accepting the Invitation
After logging in, the invitee will see the pending workspace invitation under View Invites. They click Join to proceed.
Click Join.
Step 6 - Create an IT Environment
On the Join the workspace screen, the invitee must create a new IT Environment for data collection:
Select Attach an IT environment
Click Connect
Follow the prompts to name the IT environment and choose a local currency
Confirm the configuration
Optional: Restrict access to certain platforms or scramble sensitive data (e.g., IP addresses, hostnames) before it becomes visible in the workspace.
They can now choose to restrict access to specific platforms or scramble sensitive data like IP addresses and hostnames before it’s visible to other workspace members.
Step 7 - Deploy the OneIQ Pulse Connector
From the Connectors screen, select Deploy connector and choose the platform to profile.
Select Deploy connector.
The invitee who owns the environment will be prompted to select the platform from which data will be collected.
