When working with IT Environments (ITEs) and Workspaces in OneIQ, different status indicators help you quickly understand the state of data collection. Each status is represented by a color and label, showing whether the environment is actively receiving data, has stopped collecting, has not yet begun, or, in the case of Workspaces, has reached the end of the 7 or 30 day data window.
To recap, the data flow is as follows.
The Pulse Connector collects data from the customer’s platforms and sends it to OneIQ, where it is stored in an IT Environment (ITE).
The ITE data is visible only to the customer as a rolling 7 day view of data, typically the same person who deployed OneIQ Pulse, and is not visible to third parties.
Data is shared with third parties by creating a shared Workspace and attaching the ITE to that Workspace.
Workspaces are fixed observability windows, normally showing a 7 or 30 day capture of ITE data, depending on the license.
Status Types
ITE Status | Workspace Status |
Green (Alive)
Data is being actively captured by Pulse and stored in the ITE. | Green (Alive)
The Workspace has not yet reached the end of the 7 or 30-day window and is therefore still receiving updated data. |
Green (Alive)
Data is being actively captured by Pulse and stored in the ITE. | Blue (Frozen)
The Workspace has reached the end of the 7 or 30-day window and is therefore not updated data. |
Blue (Frozen)
There is a problem with data collection between the Pulse Connector and the ITE. The ITE is not receiving updated data | Blue (Frozen)
Because the ITE is in a frozen state, the Workspace, and any subsequently created Workspaces to which this ITE is attached, will also show as frozen.
To unfreeze the Workspace, first resume data collection or troubleshoot why Pulse is not connecting and sending data to the ITE. If the Workspace has already reached the end of its 7 or 30 day window, create a new Workspace and attach the ITE once data collection has resumed. |
Orange – No Data
Meaning: The environment has been created, but data has not yet been collected.
Details: Pulse has not connected or provided any information yet.
Black – Empty
Meaning: The workspace has no IT Environments.
Details: This is a workspace-only status, indicating that nothing has been added or connected.
