Overview

OneIQ’s new sponsorship and licensing model streamlines the activation and management of sponsored access. It replaces the previous sub-account approach with a workspace-based model that is easier to use, reduces setup complexity, and encourages direct collaboration between sponsors and partners.

Free-Tier Access

Every OneIQ user automatically receives a free-tier license that includes core analytics, inventory, and 7 days of data history.

If a workspace doesn’t include a member from a sponsor’s email domain, it automatically operates under this free tier.

Sponsored Licensing

Sponsored (paid) features, such as extended observability and advanced analytics, apply at the workspace level.

  • Sponsorship activates automatically when at least one member with the sponsor’s verified email domain is part of the workspace.

  • If no sponsored member remains, the workspace reverts to the free tier

This structure ensures that sponsorship is always accurate, auditable, and tied to real collaboration, without any manual configuration.

Why the Change

The previous model required pre-establishing partner relationships and maintaining sub-accounts, which could be complex and cumbersome to onboard and verify.

The new approach eliminates that with no pre-linking, no backend setup, making sponsorship activation more straightforward and more scalable.

By linking sponsorship to workspace membership, the model also encourages sponsors to engage directly in partner-led initiatives. This ensures that sponsored resources are utilized where they generate the most value and that sponsors have real-time visibility into ongoing activities.

Benefits for Sponsors

  • Simpler activation – sponsorship takes effect automatically when a sponsor-domain member joins a workspace.

  • No pre-established links required – partners and sponsors can collaborate instantly without setup dependencies.

  • Stronger collaboration – sponsors participate directly in workspaces, gaining visibility into partner activity.

  • Verified license attribution – sponsorship is tied to active involvement, ensuring accurate license use.

  • Automatic license management – workspaces revert to the free tier when no sponsor member remains.

Exception: Design Automation (Transform)

The Design Automation (Transform) feature remains tied to the Trusted Advisor account once sponsorship is confirmed. It stays active even if no sponsor-domain member is currently joined to the workspace.

Summary

The new model delivers a simpler, more collaborative, and governance-aligned way to manage sponsorship. It removes the complexity of pre-linked partner accounts and replaces passive visibility with active, transparent involvement—helping sponsors stay connected to the initiatives they support while keeping OneIQ licensing effortless and consistent.
