The following instructions explain how to create a shared workspace and invite a customer or end user to deploy the OneIQ Pulse connector, capture data, and share it within the workspace.
Step 1 - Register at OneIQ
If not already registered, go to https://my.oneiq.com and sign up using a company email address.
Step 2 - Invite a customer to share their IT environment
Once logged in, click Invite someone to share their IT environment
Step 3 - Create a shared workspace
Complete the workspace form to create a shared workspace and invite your customer. This workspace will contain the IT Environment created during data collection.
Specify the email address of the user who will receive the invitation. This user will register with OneIQ, access the platform, and be responsible for downloading and deploying the lightweight OneIQ Pulse connector within the environment.
Step 4 - Customer receives an e-mail invite
The customer will receive the following invitation. They should click “View Invitation.” If they’re not already registered, they’ll be prompted to register.
Step 5 - Customer logs in and accepts the invitation to join the workspace
When the customer logs in, they will see an invite for the new workspace. They should click View Invites.
Click Join.
Step 6 - Customer creates an IT environment to store the collected data
On the Join the workspace screen, they will see that they’ve been invited to attach an IT Environment. Since no environments exist yet, they must first create one.
Select “Attach an IT environment.”
Click “Connect.”
Follow the prompts to create a new IT Environment and begin the setup process for data collection using the Pulse connector.
Name the IT environment that will store the data collection and select the local currency from the dropdown. Once completed, click Confirm.
From the dropdown menu, select the IT environment name you just specified, then click Confirm.
They can now choose to restrict access to specific platforms or scramble sensitive data like IP addresses and hostnames before it’s visible to other workspace members.
Step 7 - Deploy the OneIQ Pulse connector to start data collection
Select the Connectors screen and then select Deploy connector
Select the platform to collect data from.
For datacenter platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, or Azure Local, download the OneIQ Pulse Connector, a lightweight Windows application.
Copy the connection key. This will be needed during the OneIQ Pulse Connector setup wizard to link the collected data to the shared workspace securely.
Now, copy the downloaded Windows application to a Windows server within the environment and start the setup wizard.
